Robin (OW - Springfield 1969-1974) became a Trustee of the Wycliffe Council in early 2008. In January 2010 he was appointed as Second Vice-Chairman of Trustees. Robin has been a career Army officer since 1978 with service around the globe. His early military background was primarily in operational logistics. After the first Gulf War, he commanded a Chinese-manned logistic unit in Hong Kong. In 1995 he deployed to war-torn Angola as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Support for the UN Verification Mission, then in 1996 took command of 3 Close Support Regiment RLC, which he deployed to Bosnia as part of the NATO force in 1997. Since 1998 he has held increasingly senior HR appointments, including being the MOD's Service Personnel Strategy Director. He has considerable experience in business process outsourcing, corporate governance, strategic HR and change management. Robin is a graduate of the Army Staff College, a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Fellow of the CMI. He has an MBA and has been awarded a Certificate in Company Direction by the Institute of Directors. In his spare time he is President of the Hong Kong Ex-Servicemen's Association in UK and is also the Non-Executive Chairman of a social enterprise community interest company.
