Ian is an engineer by background and, for the last 30 years, has been a Chief Executive of both public and private companies, predominantly in the field of medical devices. He was CEO of Corin Group PLC, a leading manufacturer of hip and knee devices, until the end of 2007, having been with the company through private ownership and then leading a highly successful IPO on the main market of the LSE, in May 2002.
Ian is currently Chairman of Inion PLC, and a non executive director of Metalrax PLC and Sphere Medical Holdings Ltd. He is also Chairman and CEO of CellCoTec Ltd – a start up company using cellular interaction to recreate knee cartilage. In July 2008, Ian was voted CEO of the Year for the London Stock Exchange TechMark Mediscience Index companies, and is a past Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the South region. Ian has a son at Wycliffe and a daughter who is an Old Wycliffian.
