Japanese cultural exchange

The Japanese students’ time is divided between shadowing Wycliffe pupils’ lessons and cultural and sightseeing activities.

Led by the Head of Modern Languages, Mr Rob Pavis, the Japanese students have had the opportunity to travel to Bath, Stonehenge, London and Bristol, along with smaller scale visits led by the host families to the likes of Cheltenham, Stroud and the Cotswolds.

The exchange is proving to be an invaluable opportunity for the Wycliffe pupils to practice Japanese with a native speaker of their own age.

All have commented that communicating in a foreign language is a trying but extremely rewarding skill.

All the students are excited about making the return trip to Japan next Easter, when an additional twenty-five Wycliffe pupils will be joining the exchange.
