Wycliffe visits the windy city

This was our second such visit and we will shortly welcome North Shore students for the third time.

This is now becoming an established exchange which has been cemented by staff from both schools working closely together to develop our own ‘special relationship’.

For example, Bob Royston, Wycliffe’s Head of Art, spent three weeks at North Shore as an ‘artist in residence’ and the politics classes from both schools have been discussing the US election via a video link.

It was especially significant to be in Barack Obama’s home town just prior to his historic victory.

Students and staff received an extraordinarily warm and generous American welcome. As well as attending lessons at North Shore, skyscrapers were scaled, museums were visited, pizzas and burgers were eaten and souvenirs were shopped for but the highlight of the week was VIP tickets to a performance of ‘Wicked’.

We look forward to taking many more Wycliffe students to North Shore in the years to come.
