Ward’s House became part of the Wycliffe boarding community in 1949, when the 200 year old farmhouse was bequeathed to the school by former teacher RV Ward.
Recent upgrades have brought great improvements in the boarder’s accommodation, whilst the two common rooms, each with their own kitchen areas, are the focal point for the vibrant community which currently comprises 33 boarders and 21 day-boys.
New initiatives have seen the opening of a vegetable gardening area as well as the installation of a state-of-the-art flat screen TV for the common room, which has itself been redecorated largely through the pupils’ hard work and commitment. Ward’s prides itself on its happy family atmosphere, as befits its unofficial motto ‘Probably the best House in the world!’ |
