Pupils returned to Wycliffe this September to discover that Lampeter House had been transformed over the course of the Summer break!
Lampeter is a girls’ boarding house for pupils from Year 9 through to Year 13. The existing Victorian buildings have been significantly extended to provide state-of-the-art facilities creating an excellent environment for living and study. These include a brand new common room, Wi-Fi, under floor heating and even a roof terrace!
Mrs Knighton-Callister, Housemistress of Lampeter, encourages girls to gain confidence in a warm and nurturing environment. Each member of the house community is encouraged to contribute and take increasing levels of personal and collective responsibility, in order to gain the most from Wycliffe life.
Mrs K-C is also Head of Applied Science and is supported by a team of House Assistants, many of whom will teach and tutor the girls as they progress through the College. Mr Knighton-Callister is a member of the College’s Senior Management team and Head of Lower School. They live with their rescued greyhounds Ava and Amy. They have been elected by the girls as house mascots and the focus for charity fundraising to support the work of Greenfields Greyhound Rescue
"Lampeter is now one of the best houses on the campus and I feel so lucky to be part of this warm community. We come from all over the world but we are like one big happy family, who really care about each other."
Anastasia, Year 12 pupil
