The sun shone, eventually, and over 200 OWs who returned to Wycliffe had a good time catching up with old friends at the Chapel Service, during Drinks in the School House Atrium, Lunch in Wycliffe Hall, touring the campus and then watching or playing various sports - including for the first time, crazy croquet.

1967 and All That

The School won the Tennis matches this year but the OWs triumphed 35-11 in the Netball.

For the second year running, we were able to hold a Mixed Tennis fixture between the OWs and the School.  The OW first pair of Nick Deacon (1964) and Ros Porter (1980) won all their matches convincingly but the School proved too strong for the second and third OW pairs of Mark Porter (1980) & Emily Bennett (2006) and Simon Fisher (1977) & Georgie Orchard (2006). 

In the Netball Match Hannah Brown and Lindsey Gould from last year's 1st Squad returned to join  the 2006 winning OW Team.  The OWs led at the end of the first quarter but the School Team remained determined and focused and made the OWs work hard.  Some good School defence prevented the OWs from increasing their lead in the third quarter but they converted more chances and the final score was 35-11 to the OW Team.

As the sun set over the hills and the Hog Roast queue got longer, despite a top score of 77 not out by Scott Hewitt, the School XI won the cricket by 2 wickets, a reverse of last year's exciting finish.  A small group of 1987 leavers, led by Andrew 'Jim' James, who flew in from India, met up and enjoyed looking around some old haunts.   To end the day 22 OWs and partners who joined the Senior School in 1967 sat down to an evening of good food and more reminiscing.
