Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. It is an interesting, dynamic and challenging course to study at A level. Psychology is a popular and well regarded A level course. There are many different career choices for students with Psychology following A levels or university.

Psychology A level enables students to study and learn key skills at an in-depth advanced level, for example, critical thinking, data analysis and analytic skills are some of the areas that are covered. These skills are required for university courses and many career options.

In the department we have one full-time and one part-time member of staff.  Our aim is for students to move beyond the 'common-sense' explanations of behaviour. There are a number of core topics students must study. These areas include the diverse range of subjects from Forensic psychology, Autism, Schizophrenia and Child Development. We encourage students to be active learners and they become extremely adept at researching topics and presentations to other students.
