Wycliffe is among the country's top performing schools for A levels, according to latest Government performance tables. Using the most accurate measure of a school's effectiveness - contextual value added (CVA) - the school has achieved a score of 1026.2, which puts Wycliffe in the top 10% of all schools nationally.

"This analysis shows the true value of our school as our intake is academically comprehensive." said Wycliffe's Head, Margie Burnet Ward. "Unlike many schools we have very flexible routes into A levels and have individualised programmes to suit all abilities.

We prefer our students to have five grades C at GCSE but do not insist on B or A grades. As well as academic excellence we have a very comprehensive extracurricular and sporting programme that makes us a unique option for post-16 study."

Wycliffe has nearly 200 students in the sixth form studying from a range of 29 subjects. The school also has an impressive record at GCSE, despite its reputation for supporting lower ability children and being academically non-selective.

The following information is the latest in an avalanche of good news. Recent value-added analysis of GCSE results showed that Wycliffe improves each GCSE student's results on average by more than a whole grade.
