Plans were given the go-ahead by Wycliffe's trustees for major works at the College over the next few years. With buoyant pupil numbers this year, confidence is high.
Work completed at the Prep School so far includes the Year 8 centre with state-of-the-art classrooms and common room, the Reception, Years 1 and 2 classrooms with dedicated play area, the exciting new boarding facilities offering sixteen more beds, a spacious kitchen and common room, a large games room and house assistant’s flat.
During the summer holidays the Senior School campus has been buzzing with activity and has seen the completion of various building projects ready for September 2011. The upgrade and extension to Lampeter, the girls’ boarding house, is now a real jewel in the crown, with the addition of a further 26 beds, many of which are single/twin en-suite rooms. There is also a spacious common room with kitchen and views of the school campus.
Pupils also returned for the new school year to find a brand new Sixth Form common room as well as the opening of the Costa branded ‘Griffin’ Coffee Shop, fabulously extended and restyled.
Work continues on the phased refurbishment of the Science Block with the completion of the third of the new style laboratories. Work will also continue on the phased development ready for completion by September 2013.
