The exhibition was a great succes and well attended by parents, staff and pupils.

Despite the very difficult economic times in which we are living Wycliffe Preparatory School is flourishing.

Last half term the Reception class topic was dinosaurs. After reading the story Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Swamp which is about the dinosaurs having a party, the children asked if they could have one too.

As part of my Year 8 Kirby Challenge personal achievement award, I decided to push my physical boundaries and test myself by undertaking a half marathon.

Pupils in Years 5 to 8 were excited to learn that Onatti Productions were to bring their latest play, Shipwrecked en France to the Prep School on Tuesday 15th November.

On Thursday 17th and Friday 18th November, Year 6 pupils performed a vibrant adaptation of the musical Once on This Island, based on the novel My Love, My Love, by Rosa Guy.

We presented the sum of 4000.46 as a donation to a representative from the charity Help for Heroes.

The Language Perfect World Championships took place in September. It was open to pupils across the world, up to the age of 18. We entered 16 Year 6 pupils for this event.

After tea the LP children were very excited to be able to act as guides showing  their parents around their classrooms where displays and pieces of work were admired.

For the past two years the Wycliffe Nursery staff has had the privilege of working with an inspirational child with amazing courage and fortitude. Charlie has coped with the symptoms of Usher’s Syndrome and the trauma of cochlea implant surgery.

Two talented Year 9 pupils, Georgie Chillingworth and Lara Bathurst have spent the 2010-11 netball-training season in the company of the cream of the county’s talent while receiving coaching sessions at the Gloucestershire Satellite Netball Academy, at the Oxtalls Campus in Cheltenham.

Both the U11 and U12 girls' celebrated victories at the Severnside Rounders Tournament, winning their sections convincingly. .

As part of the annual Kirby Challenge Award, forty-six Year 8 pupils took part in a 10 mile walk along the Worcester Way in the Malvern Hills.

On Wednesday 25th May, the children and staff at Wycliffe Preparatory School were interrupted from their normal morning lessons when the Head, Adrian Palmer, asked the children to gather near the school playing fields as a surprise visitor would be arriving by helicopter at 11am!

As part of the humanities curriculum, Year Two visited Sevington Victorian School to experience a day in the life of a Victorian scholar.

The children in Year Two invited their parents and special visitors to join them for a Victorian afternoon tea.

When Rory Gaunt, Head of Maths at Wycliffe Prep School made an appointment to see the Head, Adrian Palmer, with the idea of installing two beehives on the school campus, he was nearly told to buzz off!

Wycliffe Prep School is pleased to announce that this year’s winners of the prestigious Hamptons International General Knowledge Trophy are Lincoln.

The Food Committee met for the first time on 6th May with Mrs Johnson, Catering Manager. This is a new committee set up to talk purely about food issues.

As you walk into the new Year 8 block you are instantly met by the smell of fresh paint, buttered toast and tea. Everything is new, from the beanbags in house colours, to the smart boards in every classroom.

A Year 7 Wycliffe pupil has taken the controls of an aircraft over the south coast of England.

Josie Hampson, Year 5, recently competed in the Servernside Tritons Club Championships.

Towards the end of last term, Josephine Rogers took part in the first Minchinhampton Young Musicians Festival.

This was the first time Wycliffe Preparatory School had entered this prestigious tournament and, as the squad set off on what would be the 150 mile trip to Plymouth College Prep School, they did so with a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm for the challenge ahead.

The new Year 8 complex is now in place and will be open to pupils from the start of next term. The facility will include classrooms and a common room.

Pupils in Years 5 – 8 were excited to learn that Onatti Productions were to bring their latest play, Shipwrecked en France to the Prep School on Tuesday 15^th November.

Year 8 pupils, Megan Nash and Natalie Newport, charmed the actors by greeting them on their arrival and taking them to lunch, helping them to set up afterwards.

The Studio Theatre was packed, and pupils and teachers alike were delighted to watch and participate in the adventures of Tyler, an English boy on holiday in France with his parents. We were all encouraged to practise our French during the course of the play and a number of lucky pupils were actively involved on stage.

Without exception, the pupils agreed that this was a fantastic way to learn French and they were surprised at how much they were able to understand. We are already looking forward to next year’s production!
