Spanish is taught in all year groups at the Senior School. Pupils entering Year 9 may choose from a beginners or continuers class, opting in year 10 to continue with the language to GCSE.
Spanish at AS and A2 levels is taught in small classes, allowing students plenty of individual attention. Results at AS/A level for non-native speaker candidates for 2009 and 2010 have been over 90% ‘A’ or ‘B’.
The school offers a unique language experience at a centre in Northern Spain where pupils take part in a week of intensive language and cultural-activities. Pupils also attend a range of lectures linked to their studies while there is also an emphasis on cultural learning through multi-media such as: literature, magazines, film, cinema, music and use of ICT in the target-language.
