Wycliffe College has a thriving Music Department which plays a large part in everyday life at the school. We believe that music should be enjoyed by all and we strive to provide opportunities to all students, whatever their background in music; from expert instrumentalists to those who have never played or sung music before.
There are numerous music ensembles and groups rehearsing each week as well as, many individual instrumental lessons and whole school music events throughout the year.
Housed in its own building, the Music Department has a large well equipped teaching room, practice rooms, offices and a dedicated Music Technology suite. All are well equipped for providing exciting and stimulating opportunities for the students. GCSE and A level Music is well subscribed and Music Technology A Level is also offered.
Outside the classroom is a wealth of ensembles and music clubs, from the Chapel Choir through various instrumental groups to several clubs designed to introduce music to interested students.
A team of fourteen specialist peripatetic teachers provide individual tuition on a wide range of instruments, with over 120 lessons taking place each week. Whatever a student’s background in music, we can provide them with musical opportunities at Wycliffe.
