Tim set up his firm, Albion Strategic Consulting, in 2001 to help owner-managed, fee-based, wealth management firms, in the UK and the US, to overcome the considerable challenges they face in positioning themselves at the forefront of the wealth advice profession. Prior to setting up the business, Tim worked for Chase Asset Management (now part of JP Morgan) in the two-person Strategic Planning unit in New York developing a growth strategy for the asset management business, following time spent in London and Hong Kong in various roles within Chase’s global fund management business. Prior to acquiring his MBA from Cranfield School of Management in 1991, he worked for Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, working with textile and property development companies. Tim holds an honours degree from Oxford University following his education at Wycliffe (at both Prep. and Senior Schools). He has written a book ‘Smarter Investing’ – published by FT Prentice Hall - that seeks to show investors how, with a few basic rules and insights, that can significantly improve the chances of better investment results. He lives in Devon with his wife and two young daughters, writes articles on investing for fun and disappears regularly to work with his clients in the UK and the US.
