Musical creativity is an essential and respected component of the broad Wycliffe education. Music is taught from Reception upwards by subject specialists and pupils have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument from Year 1. Although many children choose to study instruments, learning fundamental musical skills, such as singing in tune and holding a rhythm, is on the curriculum for all.
We run several musical groups and choirs, which appeal to any and all pupils who enjoy making music. For children who wish to take music further, the school offers many opportunities for solo and group performance. In addition, the Music Department works in close partnership with the Drama Department in the production of several staged musicals each year, helping to build children's confidence on stage. |
