The
creative arts have a very high profile in the school. Pupils have
music lessons as a class and also have the opportunity to learn
individually from a wide selection of instruments both for pleasure
and for public examinations.
Once competent they may be selected to play in the orchestra or
jazz band. Year 3 and 4 pupils are encouraged to join the Junior
Choir and Years 5 - 8 to join the Senior Choir. All the children
have drama lessons taught by our drama specialist and from Year
6 pupils will be in an annual year group production. Recent productions
have included Smike by Year 7 and the Wind in the Willows by Year
6 pupils. Year 8 enjoy a music week during which they write and
perform their own production.
