Andrea was educated at Saint Mary’s Covent and then King’s School, Worcester before going on to study Geography and Biology at Exeter University. Whilst studying she was a keen rower and also an enthusiastic member of the Exeter University Officer Training Corps. She joined the Royal Air Force as a Training and Personnel officer and served for a total of 16 years. Later tours included senior personnel officer at a large RAF Station responsible for the training of all new recruits joining the RAF; Infrastructure project lead for the closure of a Station and movement of all assets; training development and delivery for RAF officers at post graduate level; and senior personnel and welfare officer in Afghanistan supporting British Forces.
After leaving the RAF Andrea moved to part-time work in order to better juggle life with 2 young children and with her husband, Rich, moved to the Stroud area. She now has a portfolio of part-time work including sitting on a 3-person panel for High Speed 2 Ltd as an independent member deciding on applications to purchase houses potentially affected by the construction of the new train line. She also sits on appeal hearings for the Armed Forces Compensation scheme for Service personnel injured during their Service and is an RAF Reserve officer involved in training development and adjudication cases for Reserve personnel.
She has 2 children who are currently in the Prep school and is a keen cyclist and runner.
