The Chapel plays a vital role in the life of our students, whether they be from any kind of faith background not. On a practical level, it is where we meet as a community to start each day and to ensure that we begin our endeavours with a period of meaningful reflection. From a spiritual and moral perspective, the students are encouraged, challenged and even entertained in order for them to formulate their own beliefs. At the same time we teach them to live by the common values which bind us together, whatever our particular faith perspective.
For those from a Christian background, the Chaplain is available to encourage and nurture their belief, but he also acts as a counsellor for all students and staff alike in order to be alongside them for the many challenges that they might be facing in their lives. The Chapel is also open all day so that people can take some ‘time out’ to reflect or to just have a quiet space in the midst of what is always a busy school day.
