Best of Bunbury Selection

At the start of the summer holidays, Will Naish played for the South and West Region at the prestigious Bunbury Festival which was held this year at Stowe School.

In a week’s cricket there were a series of 50 over and T20 matches against the three other English regions.

In the first match, Will batted well to top score for the South and West against The Midlands, finishing on 46 not out. However, the game eventually finished in defeat. There was another defeat in the second 50 over match, against the North despite a much improved performance and the London and South East, the strongest region in the 50 over matches, also won their match against the South and West.

However, the South and West proved to be the weeks T20 specialists beating The Midlands in the semi-final, with Will top scoring against with 26 and bowling conservatively. Facing London and South East in the T20 final, the South and West produced their best performance of the week to win.

The South and West U15 side also played the touring West Indies U15 in a busy summer of cricket.

Following on from this based on his performance at Bunbury, Will was selected for the Best of Bunbury South squad to play against the North & Midlands squad at the ECB Performance Centre at Loughborough University.

Well done on this achievement.
