England Hockey Performance Centre Selection

October 11, 2017 4:07 pm

Three Year 10 students have been selected for the England Hockey Performance Centre pathway which only launched in January 2017.
Evie Green and Evie Evans have been selected for the U15 age group and Rachel Hatherell the U17 age group.
England hockey have had a complete restructure and have developed this new player pathway which sees the best players in the County Academy being selected in to Performance Centers which are run by the regions. They select the top 18 players in the county and provide an increased contact time over an extended period with training sessions taking place twice a month either during an evening or a full day.
This is an outstanding achievement for these three Wycliffe pupils, in a year group where over seven players are involved in the England Hockey pathway and we look forward to following all their development within the Performance Centre.

This builds upon the successes of many Wycliffians who represent their County or Countries in a wide variety of sports including Rowing, Squash, Netball, Cricket and Rugby. For more information on the Wycliffe Advanced Sports Programme (WASP) and details of our Scholarship entry for September 2018, which will be held on 8 November, please contact Director of Sport, Mr Andy Naish or the Admissions Manager, Mrs Fiona Lawson-Best.
