At Wycliffe Nursery we value the learning opportunities that are available to children when they use outdoor areas. Whenever possible the curriculum is structured to enable the children to benefit from these experiences.
In addition to communal Nursery playgrounds, school fields, woodland and growing beds each Nursery class has its own outdoor learning area enabling free flow between indoors and outside.
Beginning in Autumn 2019, our Nursery will also offer Forest School sessions to our pupils. For more information about Forest School click here to see more about our currently running Forest School for Pre-Prep children.
All outdoor areas are fully risk assessed. Risk assessments are filed in the Nursery foyer and are available to parents and/or carers on request.
Wycliffe Nursery Holiday Play Scheme
Wycliffe Nursery runs a fun holiday play scheme comprising of indoor and outdoor play and a variety of creative activities.
The play scheme is open from 8.00 am until 5.30 pm during specified holiday dates.
Parents are required to book by the specified date each term, using the form provided at the beginning of the term.
As these sessions are during the school holidays, uniform is not required.
Parents are required to provide a healthy packed lunch and, where appropriate, a snack tea.
As the holiday play scheme is staffed by Wycliffe Nursery staff and is open only to children registered with Wycliffe Nursery, all appropriate Wycliffe policies, procedures and risk assessments apply.
