The Preparatory School is set in its own spacious campus and offers first-class modern academic, boarding and sporting facilities including a new state-of-the-art classroom block. The Senior School has equally impressive classroom and other facilities which include a wonderful indoor sports centre, AstroTurf and modern boarding Houses.
Wycliffe is within easy reach of the major Army and RAF bases across the South West with excellent road transport links, a train station only 400 yards away and Heathrow, Bristol and Birmingham airports all easily accessible making Wycliffe the perfect choice for families based both in the UK and overseas.
Wycliffe has a long and successful history of working with Forces’ families. We are very proud of our boarding community and currently have over 100 Service children attending the College who benefit from the stable, healthy, challenging, fun and friendly environment provided by our Houses.
Forces’ families have enough to contend with today without worrying about the continuity of their child’s education. With a full weekend programme, Saturday morning school and many activities and planned excursions, there is plenty of opportunity to keep children occupied and busy. It is also reassuring to know that during those times when parents might be on the front-line, Wycliffe has former Forces’ staff on board who know exactly what an anxious time it can be for the whole family. Wycliffe providesreassurance, care and support for the whole family and these values are embedded as part of everyday life at the College.
Wycliffe supports the Continuity of Education Allowance with a very generous Forces’ Bursary, with parents paying only 10% of the school fees plus the Continuity of Education Allowance. In addition to the forces offer, the College will waive the usual requirement of a £500 deposit on admission. Please download a pdf of our special offer for new entrants here.
Due to our reputation for quality, value for money and most importantly, what we do for each and every child to ensure their experience here is happy and special, Wycliffe has been the school of choice for many Forces parents. So if you are eligible for the CEA Allowance, whatever your circumstances, you can be sure that your child will be very well looked after at Wycliffe.
“Emily started at Wycliffe Preparatory School in September 2011 as a boarder in Year 3. We chose Wycliffe because of its family atmosphere and the ethos of the Head, Mr Palmer; “if a child is happy then they are able to learn.” The pastoral care is second to none and, for Emily, Wycliffe has become her second home. We have seen her grow in confidence as well as independence since joining the school and much of this is attributed to the care and guidance of a great team of support staff, who are always there to encourage and help. It is always an overriding concern as a parent to know your children are safe, happy and in a good school – Wycliffe has successfully achieved this for our family.
We have also been very impressed with the Learning Support Centre, which has proved to be effective and goes out of its way to meet the needs of every pupil. At Wycliffe, as a parent you really feel that it is ‘the children that matter most’, which is why our family are fully behind the school.” – Current RAF parent
We invite you to visit us and are confident that you will enjoy the experience and everything that Wycliffe has to offer your child.
