Music is part of everyday life at Wycliffe. All children sing in assemblies and participate in a weekly hymn practise, and every child benefits from specialist classroom teaching in tutor groups. Our team of Visiting Music Teachers currently teach over 150 weekly individual lessons on a wide variety of instruments, from Ukulele to Harp.

We offer a wide range of ensembles including Orchestra, Middle Prep and Senior choirs, String groups, Flute group and Brass Ensemble, and all children participate in regular group performance in class.

Music develops creativity. Composing is an integral part of all music topics, and children learn about different genres and styles of composition as they progress through the school.

Each year the Music and Drama departments team up to put on several productions. In 2015/16 children participated in performances of Hairspray (Year 8), Smike (Year 7), Dinosaurs before Dark (Year 4) and The Lion King (Year 6).
