Swimming at Wycliffe is seen as a necessity. All children from Years 1 to 8 have access to facilities which provide wonderful opportunities for them to learn, develop and expand their skills base, regardless of their ability.
We are privileged to have on-site our very own 20m indoor pool which is heavily used to deliver the vital swimming skills of the PE syllabus.
We believe that every child should feel happy and confident in the water from a young age and that they should all have equal access to develop their individual skills and techniques.
The key aspects about lessons taught at Wycliffe are that they are inclusive. Each lesson is carefully adapted and each child’s individual needs are met, allowing each child to be stretched and challenged to achieve their full potential.
There is, of course, a competitive side to Wycliffe, and many pupils attend the school’s squad training sessions which provide an opportunity for the elite swimmers to refine their tactics and techniques further, whilst also developing their speed and stamina to compete against other schools and in national competitions.
