At Wycliffe, we understand the importance of offering our parents flexibility and peace of mind when it comes to their children’s welfare.
For children attending Reception and Years 1 and 2 at Lower Prep we provide wrap-around care. Children can be dropped off from 8am at the Lower Prep breakfast club and collected from after-school care by 6pm. There is also a popular holiday programme known as kindercamp.
Breakfast club is located in the Preparatory School dining room; children are able to enjoy a healthy breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt and a choice of cereals supervised by members of the Lower Prep staff.
After-school care is available daily during term time, starting at 3.30pm and closing at 6.00pm. It is located within the Preparatory School boarding accommodation. Children are supervised by qualified staff from the after-school care team. The children enjoy a mixture of social playtime both indoors and outdoors as well as more structured creative activities such as painting and crafts. For most of the time the children like to relax and immerse themselves in the fabulous selection of toys on offer, all designed to promote imaginative play.
After-school provision is designed to be very different from the classroom-based lessons and it is important that the children who attend have some time and space to relax. All the children are provided with a healthy snack and drink on arrival and if staying until 4:30pm or beyond may bring extra food with them.
Kindercamp is also based in the boarding accommodation and is an extension of after-school care, led by the same staff team. During the school holidays, kindercamp operates between 8.30am and 5.30pm daily, for approximately 14 weeks per year. At kindercamp, children can enjoy a weekly themed range of activities, including crafts and outdoor games.
