At Wycliffe Nursery we have a relaxed atmosphere that helps children to feel secure and comfortable in our environment.

Our overall aim is to produce confident, happy children who enjoy coming to school.

Our environment extends from the Nursery, Lower Prep and some Preparatory School buildings to extensive grounds containing patios, adventure playgrounds, playing fields, growing plots and wooded areas.

We have the space and resources to cater for children’s natural progression through the stages of their development, at their own pace.

Our children take pride in their achievements and love to see their work colourfully displayed.

We promote personal and social skills, which lead to the children being independent individuals who learn through play.

Children are able to attend the Nursery for morning sessions, afternoon sessions or a full day. We recommend that Lower Nursery children attend for a minimum of four sessions per week, enabling them to develop secure relationships and build foundations for learning and development. We recommend that Upper Nursery children attend for a minimum of six sessions per week, supporting their preparation for school entry the following year.

EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage: ‘The setting makes outstanding provision in meeting the needs of the range of children who attend. Excellent educational programmes help all children to reach, and in some cases exceed, expected levels of development.’ with ‘The learning and care provided by the setting for all children under the age of three enables them to enjoy exciting opportunities to become safe, active and happy learners – They have excellent listening skills, describe their experiences confidently, and develop their counting and physical skills. – Independent Schools Inspectorate Report 2013
