Tom loves his football and one of the key things he enjoyed about Wycliffe was the range of activities going on outside the classroom, not just in sports but singing in the School Choir which has over 70 pupils.
He said, “You are just encouraged to try something different all the time – so you can find a new interest or get better at what you already do.” He went on, “I think our motto says it all – ‘bold and loyal’. You are encouraged to be yourself at Wycliffe. When I joined I had no confidence and didn’t know what my talents were, but now I feel very differently. “I loved being part of the Debating Team which initially was very challenging as it was something I had not done before.”
Tom achieved A* in English Literature, an A in History, and an A in Government and Politics and is now a year into his study at Trinity, Oxford where he is reading History and Politics, for his Extended Project Qualification he wrote an exceptional piece on Margaret Thatcher. He knows exactly what he wants to do next,
I want to leave a legacy more than make a ton of cash. Ideally I would work for a humanitarian charity and give something back.
