Wycliffe College has had the honour of hosting the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Team Mathematics Challenges in this region, for the past few years. In addition we host the UKMT Mathematics Circle; an event in which Year 10 pupils from local schools attend Wycliffe College for a series of mathematic enrichment activities and masterclasses taken by University Lecturers and mathematics speakers from across the UK.

All pupils in Years 9 – 11 study Mathematics and we begin the AQA GCSE (9-1) Specification in Year 9, while maintaining an overview of national curriculum topics to be covered.
Our most able pupils are given the chance to extend their mathematical skills as appropriate, often by completing an additional qualification alongside the GCSE. Our Development Year international pupils also all take Mathematics and gain an IGCSE (International GCSE) qualification. Some DY pupils also study GCSE Statistics.

In the Sixth Form, Mathematics is a popular choice, with an around 40 pupils studying it per year. Pupils have the option of taking their study of the subject as far as they wish, with AS and A-Level available in either Mathematics or Further Mathematics.

A GCSE course is also available for those sixth formers who do not have the qualification, but need it for University entry in the UK and we recently began offering a Level 3 qualification in Quantitative Reasoning.
Wycliffe pupils who achieved an A Level in Mathematics recently went on to continue their studies at universities such as Swansea University, University of Warwick and University of Southampton.
