Stephanie is the first to say that she comes from an unconventional background. Many of her family work at a fairground and she is the first of them to study at Sixth Form level. She came to Wycliffe in Year 12 through the Bursary scheme which is designed to make a Wycliffe education more widely available to talented young people. She mentioned in particular, “The House System here is fantastic – not only because of the social things going on each week, but because you meet a huge mix of people from all over. I think that’s great preparation for uni.” Having studied A levels in Drama, English Literature and Business, Stephanie wants to read English and Theatre Studies at Royal Holloway, London. She commented, “The Drama teachers were actors and so gave really useful and relevant advice. They have become like second parents, and are happy for me to come back and ask for help with any applications after uni. The Drama trip to Athens in Greece was definitely my best bit from Sixth Form.” Her final thoughts on what Wycliffe College means to her are, “unique, a real family-feel, and stimulating.
