H 1938 - 1943
We have been notified of the sad death of John Brian Kemp who passed away on 2nd January 2020, aged 95.
Following his time at Wycliffe, Brian served in the RAF until 1947, and then went on study Economics at Bristol University (1947 – 1950).
Brian then joined the family jewellery business in Bristol and worked there until his retirement in 2002.
In 1953 Brian sat the examination set by the Gemmological Association, and was awarded the Tully Medal which is the Association’s highest award to jewellers taking the rigorous world-wide examination to gain their Fellowship Diploma.
Brian is survived by his wife Katherine and their 4 children Nicholas (H 1973 – 1978), Elizabeth, Margaret and Jeremy (H 1978 – 1983). Our thoughts and best wishes are with them.
