We have been notified of the sad death of Simon Croft who passed away on 23rd November 2021, after a short illness, aged 66. Our thoughts and best wishes go to his family and those who knew him well.

I was so very saddened to read last night (on the Obituaries page of the TWS website) of the recent death of Simon Croft (SH 1968 – 1973).
He knew my brother Nigel Cartwright (J SH 1965 – 1972 & also sadly recently deceased) well as they were just one year apart as fellow boarders in School House & often caught up with each other when attending the London OW Drinks Reunions. At school they had common interests in music & The Young Farmers Club.
Although he was 4 years ahead of me in School House, I also got to know Simon through the same London OW Drinks events & he was always so wonderfully charming & friendly. On attending this year’s London OW Drinks in October I noted that, unusually, Simon wasn’t there, but then again virtually none of Nigel’s contemporaries were there either, which I had imagined was a mutual decision with many having just re-united at Nigel’s funeral. So, it’s come as a big shock to learn of Simon’s illness & swift death, and I know my brother Nigel would’ve also been so saddened had he known of it before his own death.
I will miss Simon’s & my chats at the London Reunions & send my deepest condolences to all his family.
