The U14’s played in their County tournament last Monday.

They were faced with a strong group, but the girls made qualifying look easy with great defence and making tips and interceptions throughout the court. The turnovers turned into goals and brilliant wins were secured against Pates (5-0), 7- 2 against Balcarras and KLB and finally 11-5 against Ribston.

In the quarter finals the girls started slowly against a strong Tewksbury team. At half time the team were trailing and had to come from behind with some excellent attacking play and plenty of accurate shooting by Francesca Lundie and Evie Green, to record an 11-8 win which took them through to the semi-finals where they faced Cheltenham Ladies College. Unfortunately this was one game too many for the U14’s and slowly the game slipped away from them in the second half, eventually losing 4-8.

On this occasion they didn’t make the final. But this young promising team will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Excellent effort and performance by all.
