World Book Day 2020

March 11, 2020 9:18 am

World Book Day 2020 was celebrated across School in a number of ways. In Pre-Prep, the children were wonderfully creative in dressing up as their favourite book character. Years 3 to 8 collectively represented a book in their tutor group. They each gave a short presentation of their chosen book in the Studio Theatre.  8DH’s ‘Murder on the Orient Express and Year 4’s ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ portrayed winning performances.  The Book Swop in the Prep school allowed pupils to pass on their favourite story and to discover and new and soon to be treasured book.

Our visiting author Steven Camden (aka polarbear) energetic workshops were a massive hit with Senior school pupils. As a spoken-word artist, novelist, playwright and screenwriter his unusual workshop style was inspiring and provided rich creative inspiration for our pupils.

The library has been running #BookFace competition for staff and pupils. The challenge involved strategically matching up your face or another bodypart alongside a book cover for a melding of life and art.
