As a group of current Sixth Form pupils, we have organised an evening of speeches called ‘Wycliffe Talks’, following the success of a TEDx event last year.

The event, taking place in Sibly Hall on Wednesday the 28th November, has been organised with the intention of inspiring our peers through the theme of ‘Looking Forward’. Over the past few months we have organised each element of the evening ourselves, including arranging the media production, designing the advertising materials and inviting the six speakers.

The evening will be split into two parts, a pupil only session, followed by dinner, and a session from 7:30pm to 8:30pm which will be open to current parents and Old Wycliffians also. With each of the speakers focusing on a vastly different topic, the event will cover a diverse range of interests and promises to be an interesting and exciting evening for all who attend.

Pupil Only Session 5pm – 6:30pm

The earlier session, running from 5 – 6:30pm, is exclusively for pupils. In this part, pupils will receive talks from an ex-professional cricketer who is also an ex-Wycliffian, a current pupil, and a member of the ‘Ice Maidens’ –  a military team who were the first all-female group to trek across the Antarctic using only muscle power.

Parents, Pupils and Old Wycliffians Session 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Parents, Old Wycliffians and current pupils are all invited to attend the second session, which will run from 7:30 – 8:30pm. Those who attend this session will hear talks from an Old Wycliffian who is presently a newsreader for ITV, a current teacher, and an entrepreneur who won £100,000 on the popular television programme ‘Dragon’s Den’.

Please arrive at least five minutes before the indicated start time to ensure a prompt start. Please drive through Gate 1 located on Bristol Road and park on the main drive. Sibly Hall can be found at the top of the driveway to the left of the main School House building.
