The Ebworth Estate was the place of great adventure and fun games as the location of Year 7’s overnight camping trip.
We’ve found that this relaxed, natural environment is the perfect way for them to get to know their new classmates and start building lasting friendships.
Encapsulating the true Wycliffian pioneering spirit, camp was struck late in the afternoon in a beautiful corner of the estate. Pupils were taught how to erect tents and arrange their sleeping kit for their night under the stars.
Once camp was established the adventure continued with the pioneers hiking to Sheepscombe Village Hall to be greeted with a hearty supper. With energy renewed exciting games were played until it was time for their night-time walk back to the campsite. For some pupils this was the highlight of the trip; finding their way with torches and listening out for wildlife.
Following a fairly restful night, the keen campers were up early to pack up camp and walk back to Sheepscombe for a tasty breakfast. Senior School prefects were on hand to run a workshop on Wycliffe’s Core values and available to ask any pupil specific questions. Then it was a short drive back to Wycliffe Prep School in time for school pick-up.
