At Wycliffe:

Member: Choir, Science, Radio and Music.

Richard’s daughter Jenny Paxton (née Ault), who is also an OW (HE 1992-1994) sent us these words:

He was in Wards house and the (left-hand) picture of him c1960 was when he was 15. The (right-hand) picture was a 1963 production of Patience.

After studying at Wycliffe he studied Electrical Engineering at Imperial College before starting his engineering career in London at Phillips working with Televisions.

In the early 1970’s he moved back to his home town of West Bromwich in the West Midlands to be a part of the family firm Ault Insurance Brokers where he would become Chairman. He retired earlier than he would’ve liked due to ill-health.

Richard always loved making and fixing things being a life-long engineer. He was latterly involved in the Redditch Repair Cafe.

I know that being at Wycliffe made my dad the man he was to become and instilled in him a sense of dedication and purpose. He was always interested in how the school had changed when I was a pupil there between 1992-94 and how it continued to grow and evolve.
