CL W H 1946 - 1950
We have been notified of the sad death of Peter John Francis Smythe who passed away on 13th September 2022, aged 89. He was known as Frank at school and John as an adult. Our thoughts and best wishes go to his family and those who knew him well.
The sad news came to us from his brother and fellow OW Richard Smythe (W 1950 – 1955), who wote:
He was Head Boy in his final term at Wycliffe before starting his National Service (commission, Royal Signals). He then became ordained into the Church of England where he was a parish priest for 12 years. He later worked as a lecturer in law. Art was his lifelong passion and he had a number of exhibitions. Married twice, latterly for 46 years to Anne, he had two children. An eventful life.
