Stewart Paul Etheridge MBE, TD, JP, MBA, FIFP, CFP, FCII, ACIArb

Paul was a pupil at Wycliffe in the Prep, Junior and Senior Schools between 1948 and 1955. But as many will know, his connection to Wycliffe continued as he would later serve for a decade as a Trustee (1979-1989) before becoming Chair of the Council of Trustees between 1989 and 2006: a period of enormous and significant change across the College. In 2006 Paul took on the role of President of Wycliffe College, which he held until 2021, then becoming President Emeritus.

In his professional life, Paul was Honorary President of the Institute of Financial Planning for ten years and was a member of the Rules Committee of the Personal Investment Authority prior to its merger with The Financial Services Authority.  He was a member of the FSA Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel, a Freeman of the City of London and an Underwriting Member of Lloyd’s.  He was an External Examiner for the financial services degree of the University of the West of England for four years, commanded units within the Territorial Army and served as a Justice of the Peace for Staffordshire.  A recognised authority on financial planning topics, he was often an invited speaker at conferences in Australia, France, Holland, New Zealand, the USA and (frequently) throughout the UK.

If you would like to have your memories of Paul posted on this webpage, please feel free to email them to TWS@wycliffe.co.uk
