Boarding at Wycliffe is great fun and there is a real family atmosphere. The girls’ house, Windrush, is very cosy with colours and furniture chosen by the girls. There is a dedicated computer work room, indoor play area, music room, spacious sitting room with satellite TV, DVD player, board games and large kitchen area, including our resident goldfish!
The boys’ house, Pennwood, provides a fantastic environment for the young boys, and also has a large common room, computer workroom and games room. Friendly games leagues are arranged, and there is much competition between the boys and the girls.
A day in the life of a typical boarder at the Prep School
After leaving the boarding houses in the morning, pupils spend their day in lessons and doing educational activities.
The boarding pupils are treated like day pupils during the day; in other boarding schools they go back to boarding houses during the day. At Wycliffe the prep school pupils go to school like a day pupil and go home to the boarding houses with dedicated staff that do not teach.
