We believe happy children learn better, and our Pastoral Care is very strong at Wycliffe at every stage of our pupils’ time here, from our Pre-Prep School, Prep School through to our Senior School and Sixth Form. The positive relationship between pupils and staff and the approachability of our staff were identified as key strengths in a recent parent survey. Each pupil is able to talk to a variety of staff for support – Form tutor, Matron, Boarding Housemistress and the Pastoral Lead for each year group.

Lincoln, Shaftesbury, Scott and Grenfell are the four School Houses in the Prep School. When your child joins us, they join one of the Houses, and stay in that House for the duration of their time at Wycliffe. The House communities ensure children of all ages and year groups work together and support each other when competing in House events. There are House events every term including House Song, House Quiz, Sports Day and House Assemblies. Take a look at our Prep School boarding houses.
We offer boarding from Year 3 in our warm, secure and safe Boarding Houses, with our caring and friendly Boarding Staff – there to look after your child.
The support, welfare and care of all our pupils underpins everything we do whether they Board with us or are a Day pupil.
Holroyd Howe are our onsite caterers who provide school meals and food, and have have an excellent reputation and work exclusively with independent schools in the UK.
Our caterers are extremely good at dealing with any individual dietary requirements or religious preferences that you child may have. We cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, dairy free, lactose free pupils to mention a few.
Our Matrons are fully First Aid trained and are based at the Prep School and at the Boarding House. In addition, we have two fully qualified nurses in our Medical Centre on the Senior School Campus who support the Prep School Matrons in assessing and providing more specific medical care.
All pupils … develop mature, thoughtful qualities and they consider the needs of others. They collaborate positively, appreciate their friendships and make the most of opportunities available to them at school. Welfare, health and safety are excellent.
