Born, raised and educated in Bath, before studying Psychology at University of Birmingham, I then completed my teacher training at University of Worcester, before moving to London to begin teaching in Wimbledon whilst simultaneously studying for a Master’s Degree through Roehampton University.
As a proud man of Bath, I’m a keen Bath Rugby fan, which is always interesting given the number of Gloucester fans locally, as well as following Somerset Cricket. In my younger days I was a keen Rugby and Cricket player and County athlete and, whilst I still don the whites very occasionally, it’s much more of a watching/coaching brief these days. I’m also a long-time Newcastle United fan. Away from sports, I’m a keen cook, whilst the chance to get out in the Gloucestershire countryside with the dog is always an enjoyable way to relax.
How long have you been at Wycliffe?
I joined in January 2017 as Head of Psychology.
What do you teach?
Psychology.
What are you looking to implement in-House this year?
I’m looking to encourage Loosley pupils to be as integrated and involved in Boarding School life as possible and, given Loosley’s lovely secluded location, getting as many pupils from other Houses into and around Loosley as possible.
Pupils will also be allocated to a ‘House Family’ and, across the year, each family will be responsible for presenting in our Friday morning House Meeting on a topic from the Wycliffe Wheel. Each family will also be responsible for planning and running a Saturday evening activity.
We’ve already arranged with the Music Department to hold the first Teatime Concert of the year in the Loosley quad (weather dependent!) whilst we’re introducing House ties and badges, earned through participation in multiple House events.
Our dedicated team is ready to help.

Dear Rendcomb Families,
We are deeply saddened by the news that Rendcomb will close at the end of the academic year. Our thoughts are with all the pupils, families, staff and alumni of Rendcomb college at such a difficult time.
We are honoured to have been invited to work in partnership with Rendcomb in supporting families and pupils as you consider your next steps. We understand the care, sensitivity, clarity and respect you need during this transition and the Wycliffe community will work in collaboration and compassion with each individual family.
