Wycliffe College is delighted to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Knight as the new Head of Wycliffe College Prep

Elizabeth brings with her more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in independent education, as well as a wealth of insight from her recent role as Head of Strategy at IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools). In that role, she has been instrumental in shaping sector-wide initiatives and supporting schools across the country.

Her career spans senior leadership positions including Vice Principal, Deputy Head Pastoral and Director of Boarding in leading HMC schools. This breadth of experience gives her a deep understanding of how best to support pupils at every stage of their educational journey, with a particular focus on the all-important prep years.

Christian San José, Head of Wycliffe College, said: “We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth and her family to Wycliffe. She will bring a thoughtful, calm and purposeful approach to leadership, with a genuine commitment to placing children at the centre of school life, aligning with our Wycliffe values. I am confident that, under Elizabeth’s leadership, Wycliffe College Prep will continue to be a place where children are nurtured, challenged and empowered to thrive. Her warmth and authenticity will further strengthen the Prep’s distinctive character and close-knit community.”

Elizabeth is equally excited about her new role: “I have been struck by the sense of care, ambition and community that underpins everything Wycliffe stands for. It is clear this is a place where kindness, curiosity and individuality are truly valued, and where each child is supported to grow and flourish both in and beyond the classroom.

“I believe wholeheartedly in an education that nurtures curiosity, confidence, empathy and resilience—all within a school culture that has high expectations and academic aspiration, balanced with warmth, joy and laughter. When children feel happy and secure, they thrive—in their learning, in their relationships, and in who they are becoming.”

“Wycliffe is clearly a very special place and it will be a privilege to build on its many strengths and to work with parents and the wider community to help shape the next stage of its journey.”

We’re delighted to welcome Elizabeth and her family to the Wycliffe community this autumn.
