Re-locating to a new area and moving to the countryside is something many people dream of, and we can see why. With a greater need for open green space and nature; more and more people are taking the opportunity to make the move and re-locate to areas such as Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.
While re-locating your family can be a positive change and full of excitement, it can also be stressful for the whole family especially children as depending on where you are relocating to, it may mean saying goodbye to their school and the friends they have made. Choosing the right school that offers support for your child can make this transition easier though. Located in the Gloucestershire countryside in Stroud, Wycliffe is a co-ed independent school that offers day places for children aged 3-19 and full and flexi boarding places from age 7. Offering excellent pastoral care, an individualised learning approach and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, discover how our approach could suit your family life.

With small classes and a high pupil to teacher ratio, we can give highly personalised attention to the learning of every pupil, with all ages catered for. We understand that every pupil has different needs and small class sizes mean we can tailor teaching to meet your child’s requirements. We encourage creativity and independence in our pupil’s learning and, our individualised learning approach allows them to grow the confidence and skills they need to thrive academically and spiritually.
Relocating to a new area and sending your child to a brand-new school can be a daunting experience but Wycliffe’s strong focus on providing excellent pastoral care to support each individual pupil means we do everything we can to ensure your child is happy, settled and supported at all times.
In our recent reviews featured on the Good Schools Guide – the number one UK Guide to Schools to help parents choose the best education for their children – we received very positive reviews for both our Prep School (3-13 year olds) and Senior School (13-19 year olds) that detailed our schools’ happy atmosphere.
The Wycliffe experience is about more than what happens in the classroom. We aim to nurture pupils mind, body and soul through our extensive extra-curricular programme. If your child is moving school, our extra-curricular activities are a great opportunity for pupils to meet new friends and try new activities they may not have tried or even considered before, with over 60 activities per week on offer, every week of the year. From activities such as cookery classes, performing arts, bee-keeping, a huge range of sports, to exploring the Cotswolds as part of our active and fulfilling outdoor programme.
